MASTER OF CEREMONIES

A Master of Ceremonies (MC) plays a vital role in any conference or event. Fundamentally the role of an MC is to link various speakers or proceedings by relaxing and engaging the audience, providing introductions and relevant comments.

An MC should liaise with the team and facilitate the presentation of an event while providing peace of mind for the organiser.

Russell is in his element facilitating and event managing the timeline and is at the ready to fill those potentially awkward moments when a piece of lighting or sound equipment holds up the process, or (conversely) he can speed up the process when the odd speaker goes over time.

As an accomplished character actor, comedian and singer, Russell brings a kaleidoscopic form of entertainment to his presentations and is there to ensure your event is a success.

Russell returned to New Zealand in 2013 having spent the best part of 7 years in the UK. He performed the leading comic role of Alberto Beddini in the west end production of Top Hat at London’s prestigious  Aldwych Theatre. He was part of the original cast for the world premiere, UK tour, West End transfer and original cast recording. The 2013 production won 3 prestigious awards including Best New Musical.

A former TV chef and TV3 Weather Presenter, Russell now works as a communications consultant and corporate trainer.

Russell still performs and produces tailor-made concerts cabarets and dinner theatre productions for the corporate market and retirement villages.

When opportunities arise, Russell also directs and performs in professional theatre throughout New Zealand.
